Mexico City’s biggest market and the head supplier for most of the food consumed in the city and the country faces a big challenge.

The Mexican government is stealing the resources needed to build a more modern facility, there are sanitation problems, no room for the trash and waste generated and this is causing concerns amongst the vendors

that are now facing the challenge of having diseases and waste around the fresh produce.

For the record: Government officials censored the rest of the photo series and only let the “nicer” areas of the market to be photographed.
